US VISA Championships - Indianapolis, IN
July 22-23, 2004

Elite Competition:  Shayla Worley, Melanie Sinclair, and Kassi Price

Shayla: The U.S. Classic is an important qualifying meet for the Nationals in August and although Shayla had already qualified to Nationals at the US vs. Canada meet in October, this was still an important experience for her. She placed fourth overall in the junior competition with a 35.649. She earned the highest score of the night on beam (9.433).

Kassi:  Kassi started the meet on beam, where she has added some new skills to her routine (Kochetkova, arabian) but fell on her arabian to score an 8.250. She landed all of her difficult tumbling passes well, including her new whip + triple twist, but stepped out of bounds on her double pike to score a 9.300 (4th). She nailed her Yurchenko 1 1/2 to score a 9.316 and finish 5th on that event. She ended the meet on bars where she performed two E skills (Hindorff, double layout 1/1) to score a 9.533, the 4th highest on the event.

Melanie:  Even though she only competed on two events, Melanie had a great meet!  She placed fifth on bars (9.533) and fourteenth on beam (8.700).

Since Shayla, Kassi, and Melanie all performed great at this meet and previous meets, they qualified to the 2005 US National Championships in August!

Congratulations Girls!!
