This past weekend, Shayla
Worley competed in the 2007 Tyson American Cup in
Jacksonville, FL. This was her first meet that she has
competed in one year since coming back from an injury.
During Prelims, Shayla started off great on vault (yurchekno one
and a half) with a score of 14.900. On the Uneven Bars, she
had a picture perfect routine going until she sat down on her
double front dismount. She still scored a decent score of
15.350. She scored the same on the balance beam with a few
balance checks and debuting a new skill (onodi to two-feet)!
She finished on floor with a 15.100 and placed 3rd in the
all-around (60.700) behind teammates Shawn Johnson and Natasha
Kelley. With the two-per country rule, Shayla did not
qualify to Finals.
